Philadelphia Vireo and other migrants, Loantaka Brook Reservation, 10-2-2011

From Tom Smith, Sunday, 10-2-2011 at Loantaka Brook Reservation. A link to a Google map is here:

Interestingly, I found another Philadelphia Vireo today by the pond at Loantaka. They must like it there. There were some other birds there as well: a few Blackpolls and Parulas, lots of Yellow-Rumps, Yellowthroat, Magnolia, and Red-Eyed Vireo, among others. Almost all the migrant passerines today were clustered around the eastern end of the pond near the spillway.
A migrant Osprey was circling the pond, but didn’t catch anything. Green-winged Teal have arrived – they usually spend the winter there.
