The field at St. Clare’s Hospital on Pocono Road in Denville (labeled as McCarter park on the Google map) has been a reliable shorebird location since being flooded by Hurricane Irene. As late as yesterday Tim Vogel had Pectoral and Least Sandpiper, Killdeer and Wilson’s Snipe there. American Pipits have also been present recently. This afternoon shorebirds were absent but there was a high count for the location of 70 American Pipits.
