Ross’s Goose at Duke Island Park, 12-5-2011

A Ross’s Goose was found today at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater and has been viewed already by birders in the area. It is there at the moment this is being written (12:48 p.m.). The Ross’s is easily seen from Old York Road. This continues a remarkable string of goose sightings in Somerset County this year. Incidentally, today’s Ross’s Goose is not a Somerset County first. There is a record from Duke Farms that precedes it.

I saw the Ross’s Goose at 2:04 PM today at Duke Island Park (thanks for posting this sighting as that bird was a state bird for me – number 314!).
