Birds at Stahl Natural Area, March 27, 2012

From Ken Hart:

Between 4:30 PM and 7PM today (3/27) I walked the Robert J. Stahl Natural Area on the north side of River Road in Bedminster, and saw 21 bird species. Of interest were: 6 Palm Warblers; 6-7 Northern Flicker; 1 Kestrel; 2 Killdeer; 1 Eastern Towhee; 4 Eastern Phoebe; 1 Yellow Rumped Warbler; 4 Eastern Bluebird; about a dozen Red-Winged Blackbirds; and a flock of perhaps over 700 Common Grackles. The Killdeer were at the pond’s edge on the west (left) side of the gated entrance road. I also believe I heard the “fitz-bew” of the Willow Flycatcher, but cannot confirm.
