Not the numbers of migrants as yesterday but a few individuals were following the north wind this morning. Split Rock Reservoir had Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Green and Nashville Warblers, American Redstarts, Red-eyed Vireos and Blue-gray Gnatcatchers. A Magnolia Warbler was at Beaver Pond down the road at Wildcat Ridge. The evening before saw numerous Eastern Wood-Pewees on the snags around Beaver Pond. Today there was one.
Jamie Glydon managed a few species at Bee Meadow Park in Whippany: Veery, 6 Black-and-white Warblers, 8 Common Yellowthroats, 10 American Redstarts and a Northern Parula.
Joe Pescatore had the yardbird of the day in Bernardsville: a Mourning Warbler 10 feet away from his home office window. Also present were Black-throated Green and Black-and-white Warblers.
