Weather:
Temperature Range, 56º f to 70º f, Visibility 5 to 7 miles increasing to
10 miles in the afternoon. Cloud cover 5% to 10% with mostly blue sky and
haze beyond 10 miles. Wind, WSW, 3 to 5 mph.
Raptor Observations:
TVs and a few BVs low above the Tourne by 0910. First OS arrived a few
minutes later at 0921 low from Forth Lee and passing under the Tourne. A
lone AK passes in front of the ridge by 0945 at eye level. A second OS
passed over th Tourne between the 1000 and 1100 time slot with the final OS
coming from behind the ridge at about 1435. An Imm. CH perched in the cedar
tree for about 15 seconds then flew at eye level in front of the ridge. No
raptors spotted between 1100 and 1200.
Non-raptor Observations:
I did spot my first Black Bear (after more than 14 years on site) half way
down the tower road as we were leaving the ridge. First flock of migrating
Canada Geese (70) high in the sky heading south at 1145.
