Jamie Glydon found a drake Common Goldeneye on Lake Parsippany this morning. This is an uncommon species in Morris County. The only other reports in 2012 are of a group of 7 Common Goldeneye at Lake Musconetcong in February. They are slightly more common in Somerset County apparently wintering in the Raritan River along the D&R Towpath in Franklin Township. Jeff Ellerbusch had a high count of 34 there in January, 2012.
