Sandhill Cranes return to Somerset Co., Nov. 27, 2012

From Jeff Ellerbusch at 1:50 p.m.:

There are 3 Sandhill Cranes feeding in the corn stubble just north of the Opie Rd/Co Rd 567 intersection. Coordinates: http://m.google.com/u/m/BFxC1D

They are viewable from the shoulder of Co Rd 567 (river rd?)

[Editor’s note: this represents the sixth year in a row for Sandhill Cranes in Somerset County at approximately the same time of year. This is a new location, some 10 miles west of the usual Weston Canal, Franklin Township area Sandhill Cranes have been observed in previous years. That is, assuming this is the same family group.]
