Redhead in Netcong, Jan. 25, 2013

From Alan Boyd:

Hi Jonathan – This morning there was a drake Redhead at Furnace Pond, likely the bird from the Clark Drive pond which is now frozen over. Furnace Pond is on the Musconetcong River at the outflow of Lake Musconetcong. This pond can often have a lot of waterfowl when the lake freezes over. I usually view it from behind the firehouse in Stanhope but I’ve heard that it can also be accessed from Jenny Lind Drive on the Netcong side. About 50 Ring-necked Ducks were also present along with a Coot and some Buffleheads.
