From Mike Hiotis:
Hey Jonathan – My apologies for the late heads up from Budd Lake. On a brief visit between 2-2:45 Sat. afternoon Feb. 16 I was able to pick out 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls laying among the 1000+/- mixed gull flock. A lone Greater Black-backed was also present so the “dirty” face and hindneck of the Lesser Backs was easy to compare. Also seen on one of the gull pick-up & fly-arounds was a blondish colored Gull which went UID since it was lost in the crowd when they returned to the ice. I often wondered why an Iceland or Glaucous could not be gleaned from the flocks in upper Morris County but I see by a previous post to your site S. Lane was fortunate enough to locate one at the Boonton Reservoir. Well done!
