From Jennifer Books:
I have been seeing 3 Pine Siskins at my feeder in Basking Ridge now for 3 days. They have been mixing with a small flock of Goldfinches. In addition, I spotted a Red-breasted Nuthatch feeding on a pine cone in Madison today while walking. He was on a partially fallen tree off of Treadwell Ave.
While in the area I checked out Loantaka Brook Reservation, but a lot of what was seen earlier is now gone and the pond is a lot more frozen over than it was a few days ago. The Hooded Merganser female is still there as is the Great Blue Heron and Mute Swan. But otherwise all I saw was a very large flock of Canada Geese and about 30 Ring-billed Gulls.
