Glad to have been at the Overlook to see these impressive birds. My first ever Bald Eagle sighting. Gargantua, and Pantagruel arrived about 1 PM, up high, and distant. A novice, I was unsure of their identify. Happily, an experienced bird enthusiast (guess who!) stopped in at the Overlook. Before he was out of his car(lol), I greeted him and muttered something about Bald Eagle sightings at the Overlook…Then, as if on cue, one flew by, near, and low. “There’s your Bald Eagle.” Amazing! …Perched for some time (Kestrel, and little birds in the bushes kept me well entertained), at about 4 PM they were up again. Intermittent dogfighting not withstanding, they slowly moved away and disappeared into the distance. I waited for a while, but they were gone. Nice day!
