Washington Valley in Morris Township had 15 Rusty Blackbirds and a Fox Sparrow along Patriots Path on Whitehead Road this afternoon.

3 Dark-eyed Juncos, Eastern Phoebe, and a Hermit Thrush were seen this morning near my home on Black River Rd. in Long Valley.

The Dark-eyed Juncos are back in Basking Ridge. I saw my first one at the feeder this morning.

News from Loantaka Brook Reservation: this morning some Yellow-rumped Warblers were noted, though not in the numbers observed over the past week. A Golden-crowned Kinglet, 1 Eastern Towhee, 1 Chipping Sparrow and 2 Hermit Thrushes made the morning interesting. A flock of about 400 Common Grackles were foraging on the forest floor. Only 3 Killdeer represented the shore birds at Kitchell Pond.
At Troy Meadows on Sunday, Oct. 27, Karen English and Terry Carruthers eBirded Red-headed Woodpecker, 3 Common Ravens, 4 Hermit Thrushes, 3 Vesper Sparrows, a Fox Sparrow and 2 Rusty Blackbirds among other species.
