Pleasant Plains this evening (5:40-8:30) with Simon Lane. Some Highlights were a Virginia Rail which sounded off at 5:45, Least Bittern that began calling from the Overlook at 7ish and continued, with growing vigor, till I left at 8:30. An American Bittern dropped in at 7:45 about 75 feet behind the Overlook Pond. On the ride out 12 or so Woodcock and 7+ Snipe were heard.
