Today, Nov. 24, 2011, is the 124th anniversary of the publication of the third and final installment of E. Carleton Thurber’s List of Birds of Morris County, New Jersey which was published by the Morristown weekly the True Democratic Banner in 1887. Thurber’s List was reviewed and referenced in many publications for years afterwards. In honor of this anniversary and in the spirit of creating an historical bridge with the regional bird life of the past the Morris and Somerset County Birding web site, http://www.mocosocobirds.com, is pleased to announce that a new List of the Birds of Morris County is published today on its web site.
