March 3, 2012 marks one year since the first posts appeared on mocosocobirds.com. 386 posts and 366 days later, Mocosocobirds wants to express its appreciation to the many people who have contributed reports and helped grow this web site. In the past year, Mocosocobirds has published bird lists for both Morris and Somerset counties. These lists will continue to be updated and maintained offering a valuable resource for those interested in the bird life of these two counties. A reprint, or re-engraving if you will, of a list of the birds of Morris County from 1887 is also on the web site. Highlights of species seen in Morris and Somerset in 2011 are posted. This will be continued in the current year on a quarterly time schedule creating a cumulative record of 2012 for both counties by year’s end. Many projects are on the drawing board but it will take time to see them completed – one does have to go birding after all. In brief, the vision of Mocosocobirds is to become an archive of all things related to birding in the historic counties of Morris and Somerset and to promote an appreciation of birding and the study of nature in these two beautiful areas.
Good birding!

Thank YOU Jonathan. This site is such a great resource. I love getting all the local reports.
Yes, thank you Jon. I know the work you’ve put into the website and all the lists, and it’s very appreciated.
