Jeff Ellerbusch and Simon Lane found Chimney Rock’s second Philadelphia Vireo of the season this morning. Also present were Black-and-white, Nashville, Chestnut-sided, and Black-throated Blue Warblers, Am. Redstarts, Co. Yellowthroat, Red-eyed and White-eyed Vireos.
Jeff and Simon also located 5 adult Am. Golden Plovers and 3 juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpipers at Selody Sod Farm in Montgomery Township. This is the same number as were found on Wednesday, Sept. 5. Killdeer numbers were way down.
Morris Township was active with migrants this morning. Sayre’s Farm had multiple Red-eyed Vireos, 8 Common Yellowthroats, 2 Am. Redstarts, 3 No. Parulas, 2 Magnolia Warblers, 5 Scarlet Tanagers, 4 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and 5 Indigo Buntings. Patriot’s Path on Washington Valley Rd. added Brown Thrasher, Black-and-white and 3 Magnolia Warblers
