A Second Rough-legged Hawk at the Great Swamp N.W.R., Dec. 31, 2012

A second Rough-legged Hawk appeared late this morning at the Overlook on Pleasant Plains Road. Sammy found it and Simon Lane returned to snap a few iPhone digi-scoped pictures. This one is a dark-phased, or as Simon puts it, “A dark-darkie”. It was eventually chased off by crows.

The post about the first Rough-legged Hawk is here.
