This was Day 6 of the Pacific Loon of American Road in Morris Plains. The loon continues to receive visitors. Photographers continue to play the “Guess-where-the-loon-will-pop-up” game each time it dives, which can be frequent at times. The picture above was taken in the late afternoon while the wind churned up the water creating some interesting color and texture effects. How long will it stay? The Pacific Loon at Manasquan in 1992 appeared at roughly the same time in March and remained until April. It’s something to think about while you wait for it to emerge from another dive.

The first Osprey of 2013 in the mocosocoBirds region was found this afternoon by Jeff Ellerbusch at Duke Farms in Hillsborough Township. The Osprey circled Duke Reservoir and eventually caught a fish on Great Falls Lake.
