5 Bonaparte’s Gulls were at Lake Musconetcong this morning (Tom Halliwell) and through mid-afternoon, at least (Alan Boyd).

A Sora was heard from the overlook on Pleasant Plains Road, Great Swamp NWR approximately 8 p.m. this evening. Two American Bitterns were seen flying (Simon Lane).

The season’s first Prairie Warbler and second Wood Thrush in Morris County were at Muriel Hepner Park, Denville today (Julie Buechner).

2 Northern Harriers, a Red-headed Woodpecker, Yellow-throated Vireo and a Rusty Blackbird were at the Great Swamp NWR (Randy Little).

A Prothonotary Warbler, Ovenbird, American Redstart and Rusty Blackbirds were along the Fisherman’s Trail at Lord Stirling Park this morning (David Bernstein).

Melanie Lane Wetlands, Hanover Twp. had 6 Greater and 3 Lesser Yellowlegs, 5 Great Egrets and 2 Great Blue Herons. A Common Raven flew over the pond getting dive-bombed by an American Crow. Warbling Vireos are in. A Rusty Blackbird or two were in the wet woods (J. Klizas).

The Yellow-throated Warbler continues at Parking Lot A in Colonial Park, Franklin Twp. (eBirded by L. Bizzarro). Also at the Nature Trail: Eastern Kingbird, Red-headed Woodpecker, Hermit Thrushes, etc.

“News from Loantaka Brook Reservation: this morning was good for warblers, particularly Yellow-rumped. Groups of them were scattered throughout the woods and at Kitchell Pond. Associated with them and Ruby-crowned Kinglets, were a Northern Parula, a Pine Warbler and a Black-and-white Warbler. There were relatively large numbers of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, usually in pairs, throughout the woods and at the pond. Yellow Warblers are reinforcing their beachhead at the pond, and Baltimore Orioles are also present now. Chimney Swifts, Tree Swallows, and Barn Swallows soar overhead. A Canada Goose pair are nesting on the back pond.”
