Rob Gallucci found and photographed an adult Yellow-crowned Night-Heron (YCNH) this morning at Lord Stirling Park. It was near the East Observation Tower and neighboring field. It stayed after Rob left and was subsequently seen by others.
This is the second year in a row a YCNH has been found in Somerset County after years of no sightings. Morris County has also had its share of YCNH sightings in 2011-13.
